Before Construction
Traditional Culverts in Charleston

Picture
Undersized crossings restrict natural stream flow, causing severe problems including scouring and erosion, high flow velocity, clogging, and ponding

Picture
Clogging and barriers have further long-lasting effects on natural resources by:
-degrading stream water quality
-alters natural dispersal patterns of fish & wildlife

This road in Charleston would wash out at least once a year. 5 Stream crossings were restored in Charleston in Summer of 2020 with our Box Culvert and Bridge kits.

During / After Construction

  • Span the stream.
  • Set at the correct elevation.
  • Slope matching the stream.
  • Stream bottom of natural materials.

Our Stream crossings benefit-
